

| Lady Eagles Earn 10th Win With 22-Point Victory |

The Rhema Lady Eagles started their season slowly but have found their stride. On Tuesday, they defeated the Barclay Lady Bears 67-45 in Haviland, Kansas, to earn their 10th win of the year. After their first five games they were 0-5, but Rhema’s record now stands at 10-14. Against Barclay, the Lady Eagles used defensive pressure and rebounding to earn the victory. Rhema forced 23 turnovers, had 11 steals, and outrebounded the Lady Bears 53-40. The Lady Eagles held Barclay to only 49 shots and a 22 percent shooting percentage (11-for-49), including 18 percent (2-for-11) from three-point range.Rhema freshman guard Jamie Davis led all scorers with 27 points, while also grabbing eight rebounds. Davis leads the Lady Eagles in scoring, averaging nearly 19 points a game. Freshman forward Vanessa Zailo notched her 13th double-double of the year, finishing with 15 points, 16 rebounds, five steals, and four assists. Of her 16 rebounds, nine were on offense. Kori Jo Jones contributed 12 points coming off the bench. The Rhema Lady Eagles return to action Thursday when they travel to Moore, Oklahoma, to take on rival Hillsdale. The Lady Eagles will look to avenge a 51-42 loss they suffered at the hands of Hillsdale early in the season. Game time is 5:30 p.m. |
