The Rhema Lady Eagles dropped their second game in a row after being defeated 64-49 by the Ecclesia College Lady Royals Thursday night in Springdale, Arkansas. After the 15-point loss, Rhema stands at 8-14 for the season.

Despite holding a one-point halftime advantage, Rhema was limited to 22 second-half points, while the home-standing Lady Royals posted 38. For the game, Ecclesia shot 54 percent from the floor (22-of-41) while Rhema shot only 34 percent (19-for-47).

Two of Rhema’s top three scorers and rebounders, Vanessa Zailo and Candace Tripke, combined for only 16 points and seven rebounds in limited minutes due to foul trouble. Combined, this tandem has averaged 23 points and 19 rebounds per contest this season.

Freshman guard Jamie Davis led Rhema with 15 points, while freshman forward Kori Jo Jones finished with 11 points and five rebounds. Zailo finished with nine points and seven boards.

The Lady Eagles look to rebound from the back-to-back losses when they host Crowley’s Ridge on Saturday at the Ninowski Recreation Center. Game time is 1:00 p.m. In the Lady Eagles’ first matchup against Crowley’s Ridge, they broke the century mark in a 101-58 victory.
