Improve to 4-7 With 71-36 Victory
In what was one of the Rhema Lady Eagles’ best all-around performances of the season, Rhema defeated the Bacone College Lady Warriors JV squad 71-36 Thursday night at the Ninowski Recreation Center. With the win, the Lady Eagles upped their mark to 4-7 for the season.
In their best shooting night of the year, Rhema connected on 30-of-68 shots from the floor (44 percent) and outrebounded the Lady Warriors 43-36. The Lady Eagles’ defense was even more impressive than their offense, forcing 37 Bacone turnovers and converting them into 35 points. Rhema’s freshman guard Jamie Davis led all scorers, pouring in 23 points to go along with six rebounds, two assists, and two steals. Sophomore center Candace Tripke had 13 points on a perfect 6-of-6 shooting. She also grabbed five rebounds and had three steals. Freshman guard Keirstyn Spangler had 12 points while senior guard Jessica Davis had eight points and two steals. Freshman forward Vanessa Zailo continued to rebound at a torrid rate, grabbing a game-high 13 rebounds to go with her seven points. She now has 182 rebounds in 11 contests for an average of 16.6 rebounds per game. |
