lady eaglesRhema Downed by Lady Jets, 63-32

There are certain games where a team simply struggles to make baskets. That was the case for the Rhema Lady Eagles when they squared off against Northern Oklahoma-Enid Tuesday night in Enid. Rhema shot only 26 percent (14-for-54) from the floor, including 11 percent (2-for-19) from behind the arc in a 63-32 loss. The loss drops Rhema to 3-7 on the year.

The Lady Eagles were behind by only six points at the break, but the Lady Jets outscored Rhema 38-13 in the second half to break the game open. Rhema attempted only seven free throws, converting two, for the game, while Northern Oklahoma-Enid shot 29 free throws, making 13.

One bright spot for the Lady Eagles was freshman forward Vanessa Zailo, who scored a team-high 15 points and grabbed an astonishing 30 rebounds. Zailo has seven double-doubles in 10 games and is averaging 16.9 rebounds per contest. Keirstyn Spangler added six points, while Jamie Davis and Candace Tripke added nine and eight rebounds, respectively.
