In a rematch of last year’s ACCA national championship game, the Rhema Lady Eagles put up their most dominating performance of the season, throttling the Lady Ambassadors 64-28 to improve to 3-6 on the year. After dropping their first five contests, the Lady Eagles have won three of their last four. Turnovers have proven to be the key to Rhema’s success so far. In each of their three wins, the Lady Eagles turned the ball over less than their opponent. In their most lopsided victory of the season, the Lady Eagles committed 23 fewer turnovers (42-19) than Ozark Christian.
Rhema was led by sophomore forward Candace Tripke, who poured in a game-high 17 points, grabbed five rebounds, and had four steals. Freshman forward Vanessa Zailo was three steals shy of her first triple-double with 14 points, 18 rebounds, and seven steals. She is now averaging 15.4 rebounds per game. Freshman guard Keirstyn Spangler had a career-high 13 points and five rebounds, while freshman guard jamie Davis finishes with 11 points, nine steals, and five rebounds.
