There are games when one team is a decided underdog before the contest starts. That was certainly the case Thursday night in Russellville, Arkansas, when the Rhema Lady Eagles squared off against Arkansas Tech University, ranked number 2 in NCAA Division II. The Golden Suns defeated Rhema 80-44.

 

The Lady Eagles committed a season-high 39 turnovers which led to 30 Arkansas Tech points. Rhema shot 33 percent (9-for-27) from inside the arc, while the Golden Suns shot 53 percent. And although Arkansas Tech had a 51-37 rebounding advantage, freshman forward Vanessa Zailo pulled down a career-high 23 rebounds for the Lady Eagles. She has now grabbed 121 rebounds on the season, a 15.1 average per contest.

To go along with her game_high 23 rebounds, Zailo scored a game-high 12 points to notch her fifth double-double in her first eight games. She also had six steals. Freshman guard Keirstyn Spangler scored a season-high 11 points, while freshman guard Jamie Davis finished with 10 points, and six steals.
