SherillDavid earned a bachelor’s degree in Political Science from East Carolina University. He worked for the U.S. departments of State and  the Treasury and BAE Systems before coming to RHEMA in the fall of 2010. He and his wife felt strongly that they should leave their careers in Washington, D.C., and attend RHEMA to be trained for ministry.

After arriving on campus, David volunteered to start a men’s soccer program. The collegiate soccer season was already well underway, but the men’s team formed quickly and played their first game by the end of September, losing 7-0. The team regrouped and during regular season play saw two victories and did not lose another game by more than one goal. In November the Eagles entered the ACCA National Tournament as the bottom seed and won their first two games, earning the right to play for the championship. They lost that game but were very excited to finish their first season as ACCA National Tournament runner-up and receive the tournament MVP award.

David is spearheading the start of the women’s soccer program for the fall of 2011. David coached for seven years in the National Capital Soccer League (NCSL) and the Washington Area Girls Soccer league (WAGS). He also holds a National Diploma from the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) and a National “C” license from the United States Soccer Federation (USSF).
