When the Rhema Eagles play schools that compete in the NCAA Division II, they know they will have to play a near-perfect game in order to have a chance to compete. Unfortunately, the Eagles didn’t put forth their best effort in an 81-44 loss to the West Texas A&M Buffaloes Tuesday night in Canyon, Texas.
Rhema had more turnovers (29) than rebounds (21), shot 40 percent (13-for-25) from the floor, 25 percent (5-for-20) from three-point range, and 30 percent (3-for-10) from the charity stripe. In contrast, the Buffaloes had nearly twice as many rebounds as turnovers (31 to 16) and shot 80 percent (31-for-39) from inside the arc. Sophomore forward Parris Hoskins led the Eagles in scoring and rebounds, with 10 point and six rebounds. In his first action of the season due to injury, Caylan Andre had seven points and three steals in 18 minutes of action, while Josh Reis also contributed seven points.
